Fixing Up an Old Chandelier

I need help from you, my crafty friends. I saw this vintage chandelier hanging in a friend's kitchen eating area when they first moved in and said, "when you replace this light, I'll take it". So a year later or so, I got a message; "it's yours if you want it, come and get it". I did. It's not as shiny gold as the picture and shows lots of age. It needs an overhaul. I'm not sure if I want to put it in my closet, my dining room, or my back porch. So, my question to you is should I paint it gold, bronze, silver or what?

Easy Custom Lamp Shade Tutorial

Let's just say that my daughter kinda ruined a lamp I had by messing up the lamp shades. No problem I thought. I'll just go out and replace them. Yes them. 2 shades. After 4 lighting stores, several department stores and even a lamp shade outlet, no luck because of the size that they are. So leaving the last store, I thought "time to get creative". And I had just the idea.

I grabbed a vintage feed sack that I had laying around and with spray adhesive, sprayed the shade, wrapped a lampshade in the feed sack and trimmed it to size with scissors.

Then the other one. No special technique needed, just confidence. I like the way it turned out. Don't you?

I Had a Flashback

My son and I took a shopping break to our local very special thrift shop that's called Flashbacks. Well he went to buy pins and patches and I went to take photographs.
Let me explain. It's owned by a woman who kinda looks like Debbie Harry and dances all of the time. She's a real kick. Loud 80's music is always playing and the items found there range from very old 50's clothes to rock and roll and punk clothing, to things that you can find if you want to dress exactly like Madonna in her "Like a Virgin" period. I even found a vintage flamenco dress there before. Yes I bought it.
The dresses are amazing and it looks like any kind of dress can be found here.

And of course the obligatory beads at the counter picture with a mirror. Do you see Madonna in the reflection of the mirror? She's there.
